Justice Page Middle School

Justice Page Middle School is scheduled to undergo a renovation and is outlined below.  To received periodic updates on project milestones and other news please sign up to receive e-alerts.

School Location: 1 W. 49th St., Minneapolis MN. 55419

Scope of Work:

A new MPS District Standard monument sign will be built at Justice Page this summer to replace the existing monument sign. It will have a digital display and be located more prominently near door #1. We anticipate work to occur during summer months and be complete by the start of school.

Design work has begun to create a welcoming and secure main entrance at door #1, renovate classrooms to support science education, and replace lighting. Construction is planned for summer, 2022.

Project Updates:

November 2022: Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the new entry 11/18/2022 - Project is completed

October 2022: Hallway ceilings, building lighting and the office suite were completed September 2022

Landscaping associated with the new entry was completed on October 10, 2022

Science classrooms 110, 111, 314 and 315 will have installation of the new cabinets, countertops and sinks during MEA break (October 19-October 24, 2022) this installation will be the final step in completing the science room renovations.

The new entry is in the final stages of completion and is scheduled to be complete and open for use starting November 1, 2022

July 2022: Progress continues on the new secure entry and main office.

June 2022: Install a new secured entrance for student safety. Install new access controlled main entrance to use as secured entrances for the staff and general public.

• Excavation work is continuing and almost complete
• The concrete structure for the entrance is being installed

Remove and install new ceiling panels and lighting in the hallways throughout the building

• Hallway ceiling removal throughout the building is complete
• Ceiling work in the hallways on the 3^rd floor is almost complete and the crew will move to the 2^nd floor

Demolition of the main office begins and will continue through June 2022.

April 2022: Two construction activities will begin on Monday May 2, exterior work at door 1 and ceilings in the hallways.  Below are some additional details about this initial phase of work:

May 2-August 19, 2022

Install a new secured entrance for student safety. Install new access controlled main entrance to use as secured entrances for the staff and general public.

• Excavation work for the new entry will begin May 2, 2022.
• Door 1 will only be used for emergency exiting beginning May 2, 2022
• Door 10 will be used to enter the south side of the building beginning May 2, 2022

Remove and install new ceiling panels and lighting in the hallways throughout the building

• Hallway ceiling removal will begin on the 3^rd floor on May 2, 2022
• Ceiling work in the hallways is scheduled from 4:15-11:15pm daily until June 24, 2022

April 2022: Sheehy will begin construction in May 2022 on the new entry.  Any in school work will happen in the afternoons/evenings until the end of the school year

January 2022: Sheehy Construction has been awarded the bid for the Justice Page Middle School Addition and Renovation Project, pending Board Approval in January 2022

November 10, 2021: The Design will be completed and ready for bidding by December 2021

June 23, 2020: Design is underway for the new secure and welcoming entrance at Justice Page Middle School. Design will continue throughout the summer to prepare for summer, 2022 construction. Scope includes new entrance vestibule, secure entry, office suite renovation, lighting replacement, and science classroom updates.

Construction is underway for the new monument sign.

April 1, 2021: Project is currently in the design phase.
